We have a wonderful preschool program that began in October 1970, consisting of 3 classes.  The 4 year old class meets on Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 9:30 am to noon.  The 3 year old class meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:45 am.  The 2+ year old class meets on Wednesday from 9:30-11;45 am.  Children must be 2 1./2 to qualify for the 2+ class. 

We begin each school year on Tues after Labor Day and conclude on Friday before Memorial Day.

Denny Cook is the director and teacher, Joan Harrington is the assistant for the 3 and 4 year old classes and Missy Deel is the teacher for the 2+ class with an assistant.

We begin each morning with our circle time (which is the most structured time of the morning).  During that time we go over the alphabet, sounds, the calendar, counting and units including colors, manners, shapes, nutrition, five senses, community helpers, rhyming words, opposites, sets & holidays.

After circle time, we have free play during which time we develop socialization skills and generally do individual art projects.  Each child also has an opportunity to play on the computer.  After each child assumes responsibility for helping clean-up, we have a light snack each morning.  Then weather permitting, we play outside on our well-equipped playground.  When we are unable to go outside, we  can play in the gym or do exercising in the classroom.  We conclude each morning with a story and rhyme time.  We occasionally go on field trips.
