Enjoy contemporary Christian music as SPLASH! Band shares in a night of praise and worship at Pleasant View United Methodist Church in Abingdon, Virginia.  The concert will be held on Friday, April 29th at 7:00 pm and a love offering will be collected to benefit the teaching and ministry of Tri-Cities ristian Schools.

Several of the current members of SPLASH! came together in 1998 for the purpose of glorifying God in worship at Pleasant View United Methodist Church (PVUMC).  Their music was incorporated into the existing worship services and other special services.  Appearances outside of Pleasant View have included other churches and community venues such as the Coomes Recreational Center, the Abingdon Christmas Parade, the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion and the Bristol Motor Speedway.  The group has also been involved in leading a series of contemporary worship workshops.  In 2003, Pleasant View began a new contemporary style worship service and those in the group committed themselves, along with Pastor Jim Goddard, to serve as the lead worshippers for the service.  With the Holy Spirit as true worship leader, this meaningful service continues with uplifting power. 

The repertoire of SPLASH! includes many praise and worship songs that are being lifted to the Lord all over the world.  Examples of these are: He Reigns, God of Wonders, Breathe, and Here I Am to Worship.  Selections from the pop Christian category such as If We Are the Body are also covered.  Secular songs sung/played for God’s glory include:  Everyday People and I’m a Believer.  Old hymns are not neglected, just updated.  These include:  How Great Thou Art and Nothing But the Blood.  Song selections also include the group’s own God-breathed music and lyrics.

The Benefit Concert will be held at Pleasant View United Methodist Church which is located in Abingdon, Virginia at 18416 Lee Highway and is easily accessible from Exit 13 off Interstate 81 (across from the Virginia Highlands Airport).  The facilities are wheelchair accessible.  Hearing assistance devices are available.
